jer'zt, n. The finest of wool separated from the rest fine yarn of wool a close-fitting woolen jacket or skirt. [Fr. the island of Jersey Jerusalem Artichoke, je-roo'sa-]em-ar'tr-ch5k. A perennial species of sunflower, whose tuberous roots are used as food. [Jerusalem is corrupt, of girasole, sunflower, fr. L. gyrus, circle, and sol, sun.]
