Sarawak

A town and province of Borneo, on the northeast coast of the island. The Chinese inhabitants of this place rose in insurrection and ma acred a number of Europe ans, February 17 and 18, 1857; the rajah, Sir J. Brooke, raised a force and speedily chastised the insurgents, of whom 2000 were killed.
