WAKE FOREST COLLEGE

an educational institution founded by the Baptists in 1834, at Wake Forest, N. C., a town 16 miles northeast of Raleigh. It was at first known as Wake Forest Institute, acquiring its present college status and name in i838. It consists of 15 independent schools, each devoted to a special subject.
