Maria Gowan, an American poet, pseudonym Marta DEL Oc- CIDENTE, born in Medford, Masa, about 1795; spent her youth in Charles town, Ma ., and the rest of her life in London, New York and Cuba, She died in Matanzas, Cuba, Nov. 11, 1845.
