Hurdy-Gurdy Wheel

Wheel driven by the impact of water, under high pre ure, striking with great velocity concave paddles arranged about the circumference of the wheel. One of these wheels at the Com stock mines in Nevada is 36 in. in diameter, makes 1,150 revolutions per minute under a head of 2,100 feet, and with a nozzle of one-half in. in diameter produces 100 horse-powers.
