Borassus

(bo-ras'sūs.) (Bot.) Agenus of Palm-trees, having only one species, B. flabelliform is, the Palmyra Palm, trom which is obtained an intoxicating liquor called toddy, or palm - wine, by fermenting its sap, which yields sugar in considerable quantity. [s. 106]
