rubidine

[Lat. rubid ( us )=dark red; -ine (Chem.).] rubidium Chem.: C11H17N. An organic base belonging to the pyridine series, and contained, with several others, in coal tar. It is a colorle liquid of oily consistence and faint odor, slightly soluble in water, freely in alcohol and ether, has a specific gravity of 1'017, and boils at 230°. Its salts have a tendency to a ume a reddish tint on exposure to the air.
