Hemp; a genus of annual urticaceous herbs of the tribe Cannabinece, distinguished by the opposite or alternate digitate leaves and the axillary dioacious flowers, the male flowers being in cymose panicles and consisting of a 5-parted calyx and five stamens, and the female flowers being in se ile spikes and consisting of a single oblong-acuminate sepal investing the 2-styled, 1-ovuled ovary.
