Absence

Chandler's Encyclopedia · 1898 · p. 2
Military offense on part of an enlisted man when he absents himself from his post or company without proper authority. If convicted by court-martial, army regulations provide that he shall forfeit all pay and allowances accruing during such absence and make good time lost. An unauthorized absence for ten days or more may be charged against him as desertion a military crime of a much more serious character. IMG:content-0024.png:[blocks in formation]
