Atlantic City

a city and widely noted health and pleasure resort, in Atlantic county, N. J.; on Absecon Beach island; 60 miles S. E. of Philadelphia. It is a city of hotels, shops, and cottages, with superior railroad facilities, and has the largest pitronage of any seaside resort in the country. Its famous board-walk is over 5 miles long and 20-60 feet wide.
