Containing or produc- A2l(a81)-u2(u)-mi?n’i2-u3m(u4m), From alum. Fr., aluminium. Ger., Aluminium. It., alluminio, Sp.,aluminio. Syn.: aluminum, alumium. A metallic element first isolated by Wahler in 1827. It oceurs in nature in a great variety of minerals, usually combined with silica, either alone or in connection with iron, magnesium, calcium, and sodium. It also occurs native as an oxide. See ALUMINA. A. isa white metal, with a faint tinge of blue, capable of taking a fine polish, It is very malleable and ductile, | amina. S trimethylamine alum.
