BOISE

a city of Idaho, the capital of the State and the county seat of Ada co. It is on the Boise River and on the Oregon Short line railroad. Boise is 45 miles southwest of Idaho City. Its site was formerly occupied by a trading post of the Hudsons Bay Company. The city is the center of an important agricultural and mining region. It is supplied with pure hot water from a flowing boiling well. Its public buildings include the State Capitol, U.S. A ay Office, State Library, banks, public library, hospitals, etc. It has important industries including meat packing, stone quarrying, and the manufacture of cigars, cement, etc. It is also an important market for the wool-growing industry.
