(hi' -drops). Dropsy: an abnormal collection of fluid in a cavity or part of the body. See Anasarca . H. articuli, a watery effusion into the synovial cavity of a joint. H. cerebri, hydrocephalus. H. fibrinosus, effusion into a joint, with fibrinous deposits. H. oculi. Same as Hydro pht halm i a. H. paralytic us, that in paralyzed parts. H. renal is. See Hydronephrosis . Tuberculous, a copious effusion into a joint from tuberculous affection of the synovial membrane. H. vesicae felleae, dropsy of the gall-bladder.
