The act or proce of preparing for some unusual feat requiring physical qualities by increasing the powers of endurance. The main requisite in athletic training is to get rid of all superfluous flesh, which consists chiefly of the fatty ti ue of the body. This is chiefly effected by perspiration induced by violent exercise and warm clothing, or sometimes by the use of the Turkish bath. The length of time during which the training must be continued depends greatly on the condition of the person undergoing the proce . 3.
