Simon

(St.), the cousin german of our Lord, according to the flesh, was the son of Cleophas, and of Mary, sister to the ‘ble ed Virgin. Simon I. high priest of the Jews, and surnamed the Just, was the son of Onias I. whom he succeeded. He repaired the temple of Jerusalem, which had been laid in ruins, and surrounded it with a wall.
