A perfect, never-failing, or unerring marksman; as, a dead - shot with the rifle. Dead'-struck, a. Struck or confounded with terror, pain, or astonishment. "I will be deaf to pleading and excuses." Shaks. -Without taste, virtue, or flavor; withered; decayed; as, a deaf nut. (R.)
