Removal of the contents of an organ. as the eye. 6. of the eye, surgical removal of the contents of the eye, the sclera being left intact. obstetric e., the removal of the abdominal and thoracic viscera of the fetus in order to facilitate delivery. 6. of the orbit, removal of the contents of the orbit, with scooping out of its periosteal lining.
