binocle (binokl)

[F. binocle = Sp. binócolo, binocular (bi-nok'- or bin-ok'ū-lär), a. [L. bin i, double, + oculus, eye, + -ar2. Cf. binocle.] 1. Having two eyes: as, "most animals are binocular, " Derham. Also bin oculate. [Rare.] -2. Referring to both eyes; suited for the simultaneous use of both eyes: as, a binocular telescope or microscope.
