[Eng. sens it(ive); o connect., and meter.] Photog.: An apparatus for testing the sensitivene of photographic preparations. One form consists of a screen, divided into small squares of varying opacity, which is placed before the surface to be tested, and the whole exposed to a standard light for a fixed time. Each square of the screen bears a number, and the higher the number impre ed upon the sensitive surface, the more sensitive it is. [Eng. sensitive); -ory.)
