t. & i. [TANG (2), 8.] A. Trans.: To cause to sound; to utter loudly. ( Shakesp .: Twelfth Night , ii. 5.) B. In trans.: To ring. ( Shakesp .: Twelfth Night, iii. 4.) To tang bees : To strike two pieces of metal together, and so to produce a loud sound, to induce a swarm of bees to settle.
