The clearing of land from Couch gra , which is effected by first pulverizing it; and then, in very dry weather, collecting the couch by harrows, or by a horse-rake, such as that used for collecting stubble, and which so applied is called a couch rake . (Surg.) One of the operations to restore vision in cases of cataract. It consists in depre ing the opaque lens, so as to remove it out of the axis of vision; called also DEPRESSION.
