Teleostomi (tel-ē-os'tō-mi), n. pl. [NL., pl. of tel eos tom us: see teleostomous.] A subcla or cla of true fishes, having the arch of the upper jaw formed by specialized jaw-bones (generally both intermaxillary and supramaxillary) and a more or le developed set of membrane bones. The group is contrasted with the selachians or elasmobranchs, and includes both the teleosts and the ganoids. Compare Selachostomi, Cyclos tom i, Cirrostomi. teleostomous (tel-ē-os'tō-mus), a. They are generally due to variations of resistance resulting from variations in pre ure in carbon, as in Edison's transmitter (called carbon telephone ), or in surface contact when hard carbon is used, as in Blake's transmitter.
