(i'zak.) [Heb., laughter.] (Script.) A Hebrew patriarch and pastoral chief, was the son of Abraham and Sarah, and half-brother of Ishmael. The incidents ofhis life, as recorded in Genesis, are well known. He died at Hebron, aged 180 years, leaving two sons, Jacob andEsau. [s. 493]
