[Etymology doubtful. Dr. Murray thiuks it probable that it comes from bandy, v. (q.v.).] 1. A club bent and rounded at the lower part, designed for striking a ball. 2. A game played between two parties equipped with such sticks or clubs, the one side endeavouring to drive a small ball to a certain spot, and the others doing their best to send it in the opposite direction.
