pith/I-an, n. Pert, to the prieste of Apollo, Q, ku, the 17th letter in the Eng. alphabet, has but sound, — the same as that of k, or c hard: it is perfluous letter, never ending a word, and is always followed by w, the 2 letters together being nounced like kw, except in some words in which h is silent.
