CLYPEUS

(Lat.), n. m. Kliap(klu8p)'ea-u3s(u4s). 1. See FoRNix. 2. A sort of register belonging to the baths of the ancients, so called from its form. It was used to increase or diminish the heat by excluding or letting in the air. 3. The broad viser-like piece which forms the front of the head of most insects. 4.
