Involution

Opposite of evolution; proce of acquiring the characters that are unfolded during evolution or development. Involution. In Arithmetic and Elementary Algebra, proce of raising any quantity to a given power.-In Modern Geometry, when three or more pairs of rays in a pencil are each harmonic to the same pair, these lines are said to be in involution. The common harmonic is called Focal Rays. If a transversal be cut by lines in involution, the points of section will be in involution. The sections of the focal rays with the transversal are foci, and the midpoint of the foci is the center of involution.
