adj. Mead-uas'oid. From medusa (q. v.), and etiot, resemblance. Like a medusa; as a n., a gonophore at that stage of development in which it has come to resemble a medusa; consisting of a cup-shaped disc (nectocalyx) from the centre of which projects the maiiubrium, and with hollow tentacles attached to the margin.
