In Mercantile Law, the sum paid by the merchant or other person hiring a ship, or part of a ship, for the use of such ship or part for a specified voyage, or for a specified time. Freight must be mentioned, eo nomine, in a policy of insurance, and is not covered by a policy on goods. [s. 492]
