[Hind. & Pers. man.] In the East Indies a measure of weight, varying in different localities. At Madras it weighs nearly 25 lbs.; at Bombay, 28 lbs.; at Kurrachi, 80 lbs.; and at Calcutta, the Imperial or Indian maund weighs 823 lbs., and the factory maund 743 lbs. *mâund (1), v . t .
