Düsseldorf

Town of Pru ia, on the right bank of the Du eldorf from the Rhine. Rhine, 18 m. below Cologne, noted for its gallery of paintings. It has iron, cotton, and other mills, and a large trade. It was fortified till 1802, and became a free port 1829. Pop., 1890, 144,682.
