tap wrench

A two-handled lever for rotating a tap used in forming an interior screw-thread. The shank of the tap is held between a fixed and a movable die, which are approached by a screw, and are adapted to hold shanks of various sizes. tăp (3), s. [TOP.) A top; a head or the like. ( Scotch.) Tap of tow : 1. Lit.: The quantity of flax that is made up into a conical form to be put upon the distaff. 2.
