Cocculus,kok'-kew-lus

s.a, genus of Indian menispermaceous plants, one species of which, Cocculus palm at us, affords the Columba root of commerce, from which a valuable bitter is obtained another yields the berries called Cocculus Indicus, employed in medicine as a narcotic, and sometimes to adulterate beer.
