Mystacinæ (mistasine)

pl. [NL., pl. of Mystacina.] A group of molo ine Emballonu ridæ, represented by the genus Mystacina. mystacine (mis'tā-sin), a. Having the characters of Mystacina; pertaining to the Mystacinæ, mystagogic (mis-ta-goj'ik), a. [ ἀγωγός, a leader).] 1. One who instructs in or interprets mysteries; one who initiates. - 2. Specifically, in the ear ly church, the priest who prepared candidates for initiation into the sacred mysteries. Smith, Diet. Christ. Antiq.-3t.
