President
Smith's Financial Dictionary · 1903 · p. 420
The chief executive officer of a stock company is the president and he also presides (is chairman) at meetings of the board of directors, except when the office of chairman of the board exists in addition to the office of president. The president of a bank is its executive head. In Great Britain the head of a bank is the governor, as in the case of the Bank of England, or the manager; in Canada the head of a bank is the manager general or manager resident.
