Division of Prosobranchs, including forms with the aperture of the shell entire. There are three sub-groups, Rhipidoglo a, Pteno glo a , and Tænioglo a , in part. Diptera , Hymenoptera . Lepidoptera , Strepsiptera , and Coleop Holometabola. Division of Insects, including the orders tera , and sub-orders Aphaniptera , Tanystomata , etc. These all undergo complete metamorphosis. The egg hatches into a worm-like larva (grub or caterpillar), which is the usually active, feeding, and growing stage. Next follows the pupa stage (chrysalis or cocoon), when the organs of the next stage companied by histolysis. This is a quiescent period. Then folare gradually shaped out of the pre-existent organs, often aclows the imago, the perfect and usually winged mature insect, which often has a comparatively brief life, but long enough to lay the eggs that produce the next generation, which begins the larval stage over again. This is simply a case of embryonic development broken up into periods.
