City of Cambria co., Pa., on the Conemaugh, 78 m. e. of Pittsburg; nearly destroyed May 31, 1889. Nearly $4,000,000 worth of property was destroyed, and 2,142 lives are known to have been lost: the number has been much more highly estimated. The town was rebuilt, and has extensive iron-works.
