[ Gale my inæ (ga-lē-mi-i'nē), pl. [NL., with Myogalina. prop. Galeomys, insectivorous mammals, of the family Talpidæ and subfamily Galemyine Myogalinæ, called Myogale; the desmans or musk shrews. See desman. Also Galomys. galena (gā-lē'nä), n. [ a bluish-gray or lead-gray lead and often still more so as an ore of silver. The variety carrying silver is called argentiferous galena. Also called galenite. - False galena, or pseudo-galena. See black - jack, 3, and blende.
