RAROTONGAN LANGUAGE

[s. 633] : One of the Polynesian languages, and one of several spoken in the Hervey or Cook’s Islands. It is the dialect found in those islands, selected by the mi ionaries for printing, and has been reduced to writing in Roman letters. A RATNAGIRI: town in Bombay, India, and capital of the district of Ratnagiri, situated 82 miles N. W. of Kolhapur. Population, 12,616. Station of the (1873), with (1903) 1 mi ionary and his wife, 8 women mi ionaries, 10 native workers, 3 outstations, 2 places of wor.ship, 5 Sunday schools, 1 boarding school, 1 orphanage, 1 leper asylum, and 63 communicant Christians.
