[LANTHANUM.] lăn-ta-nür'-ate, s. [Eng. lantanur (ic); -ate.] Chem.: A salt of lant anuric-acid (q. v.). lăn-ta-nur-ic, adj. Lantalic-acid, a diabasic acid formed in the oxidation of uric acid by a mixture of ferricyanide of pota ium and potash. It is a gummy ma , very soluble in water, but insoluble in alcohol. It unites with bases, forming normal and acid salts. Pota ic lant an urate, C3H3KN2O3. is a crystalline powder, soluble in water. Its solution gives, with ammoniacal nitrate of silver, a white precipitate containing 53 per cent. of silver. lănt-çhạ, s .
