(de-liv'ür-e.) [From L. de, priv., and libero, to free.] (Rhet.) That branch of oratory which refers to the management of the voice. Such authorities as Demosthenes and Cicero have placed D. in the first rank of all that constitutes eloquence. [s. 274]
