(-kāsing.) (Mach.) In steam-engines, a compartment filled with steam, and encircling any pipe, ., to prevent lo of caloric by radiation:-soтetimes termed steam-jacket. [s. 854] Steam '-chamber(-cham'bŭr) or -room. (Ma Steam '-chamber(-cham'bŭr) or -room. (Mach.) That compartment in a boiler which serves as the receiver of the whole body of steam generated. [s. 854]
