Clipper

(klip'pr.) [From clip.] (Naut.) A cargo carrying ve el, especially constructed for fast sailing. The C. of Baltimore, U. S., and of Aberdeen, Scotland, are particularly noted; the swiftest of the kind, however, are those employed in the Chinese tea-trade with the United States and England. [s. 197]
