Chemical Recorder

—The instrument at the receiving end of the line which records the me age in a chemical automatic telegraph system. It consists e entially of a strip of chemically prepared paper moving over a cylinder, and a steel need ley which decomposes the chemical solution with which the paper is impregnated. The chemically treated Chemical Recording Meter. tape upon the smooth metal cylinder serves as one electrode and the steel needle acts as the other in causing electrolysis.
