A small, slender crustacean of the family Caprel lidæ, as Caprella linear is; a specter-shrimp; a mantis-shrimp. Also called skeleton - screw. skeleton-spicule (skel'e-ton-spik"ūl), n. In sponges, one of the skeletal spicules, or supporting spicules of the skeleton; a mega sclere, as distinguished from a flesh-spicule or micro sclere.
