(Bot.) See POLEMONIUM.-(Her.) A three-runged ladder, supposed to typify Faith, Hope, and Charity.-(Naut.) A rope-ladder, with wooden steps for the feet, by which the outer side of a ship's shrouds is reached from within board. [s. 498]
