Almond

the fruit of the almond tree, which grows usually to the height | of 12 or 14 feet. Its pink -flowers, composed of five petals, grow in pairs, and appear very early in spring. The almonds which are consumed in the United States are imported, sometimes in the shell, and often without, from France, Spain, Italy, and the Levant.
