—Bearing steps cast from an alloy of copper and zine. Generally, all loose bearing pieces or steps are termed bra es, though they are most usually made either of bronze or gun metal, a copper tin alloy, or else of cast iron or steel fitted with rece es filled with a white or anti-friction metal, composed of tin, zine, antimony or lead, with occasionally copper.
