Intervene

in-ter-ven', v. i. [-vened (-vend'), -VENing.] To come or be between persons or things; to occur, fall, or come between points of time or events; to happen in a way to disturb, cro , or interrupt; to undertake an action voluntarily for another. — Intervention, -ven's hun, re. Act of intervening; interposition; interference that may affect the interests of others, — esp. of one or more states with the affairs of another. {Civil Law.) The act by which a third person, to protect his own interest, interposes and becomes a party to a suit pending between other parties.
