(man-ip-u-la's hun.) [From L. manus, a hand.] A term which signifies work done with the hands. It expre es, in pharmacy, the preparation of drugs; in chemistry, the preparation of substances for experiments; and in animal magnetism, the motion of the hands by which the operator magnetizes those on whom he operates.
